Thank you! From an sword enthusiast point of view those are my favourite designs, clean simple lines. From an artisan point of view sometimes I prefer some more challenging designs, luckily I get to make both.

/applauds The blade reminds me of Alchem, and the rest, Darkwood. That's what I use in the SCA, so major props on matching the beauty and reliability of their weapons! ^^

Got a buddy who's been practicing his forging with smallsword hilts, though he's gonna fashion me a Pappenheimer. Only problem is he's dependent on Alchem for blades -- got any advice for him on how to make his own?

On this side of the ocean Alchem are pretty rare, Darwood stuff on the other side are relatively common. A few fencing schools here in Europe started to use my blades, that's my best accomplishment.

For your buddy haveing the right steel and the right tempering proces is fundamental. You can make the best looking blade but without those two qualities it'll not be fencible.
