Sabaton Broadsword (0) by Danelli-Armouries Sabaton Broadsword (0) by Danelli-Armouries
I've been tasked by a dear friend with the integration of the initial S of a metal band logo( Sabaton) into the design of a Scottish basket hilt backsword.
While at it we decide to modify the rest of the design accordingly, so the result is the sword you see here. It has all the general specification of an early scottish broadsword, many had an S shaped decoration in the same position for example, but everything has taken a more modern feel.
Here the specs:
Weight: 1120 grams
Length: 103 cm - 41"
Blade length: 88 cm - 34"1\2
Blade width: 3.5 cm - 1"1\4
PoB: 9 cm- 3"1\2

You ask for it here, then wait 6-7 months to be delivered to you. Oh, I forgot a conspicuous amount of money between the two :D

A conspicuous amount of money, huh? and how much constitutes a conspicuous amount? and what materials are used? I should also ask, do you have a working website? I tried going to the link on your main page, but it wouldn't load. I really enjoy looking at your works, and it would be convenient if you had pricing info.

I sold that one for £500. Spring steel for the blade, carbon steel for the hilt.
Fixed the link, it was the https before creating problems ;)

O.O

Wow that is a VERY conspicuous amount. Working for what I do, that would be almost a whole month's earnings.

as for the link, thanks! I'll definitely take a look!

It took me an entire week, which, taking into account materials, rents, taxes and all leaves me at the end of the month with little more than minimum UK wage ;)

Oh, I didn't mean to say it isn't worth that, but it isn't something to hastily decide on, either. And I work for just over minimum US wage, so I know how that feels. May I ask where/how you learned your craft?

I know, don't worry. I'm self taught actually, I spent some time with another swordmaker at some point but mostly to help between the transition between quitting my job and swordmaking full time.
